
Katherine Dunavant “Kitty” White
Katherine Dunavant “Kitty” White, 90, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at Whitmore Retirement Center in Oxford.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Preston Payne Dunavant Sr. and Ethel Condrey Dunavant. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband James White and by two brothers, Preston Payne Dunavant Jr and James Condrey Dunavant. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond.
Kitty loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed playing with her grandkids when they visited during school vacations. She was a master Bridge player and retired so she could play with her many Bridge clubs. She was always up for a game of canasta and often played with her daughters’ friends and grandchildren. She was a beautiful seamstress and made several formal dance dresses, business suits, casual pants and tops. Kitty was a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church who participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Survivors include two daughters, Carmen Quinn (David) and Linda McOsker; and two grandchildren, Michael Neese and Michelle Neese.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. A mass of resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Richmond, VA. Private burial at Westhampton Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Rd., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
