Bruce Anderson Owen, Jr.

Bruce Anderson Owen, Jr., age 57, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2022. He was born in Durham, NC to the late Bruce Anderson Owen, Sr. and Betty Jacobs Owen. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Pamela Moste Moore.

Bruce graduated from Southern High School in 1984 and was a skilled mechanic, truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He loved airplanes, attending aviation events, flying remote controlled model airplanes and trains. Bruce grew up being a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church, he also attended Antioch Baptist Church and in recent years, he attended Fellowship Baptist Church. Bruce was a very sociable person, could fix anything, drive anything, full of knowledge and knew the Bible very well. He enjoyed watching the Discovery and History channels.

Bruce is survived by his sisters, Joan O. Powell of Oxford, Sandra O. Ruane (Brian) of Burlington; brother, Wayne Shotwell of Timberlake; nieces, Laura Shotwell Satterfield (Brian), Clara Post; and nephew, Mitchell Moste.

No visitation is planned. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

    Bruce I am sorry that you left here so young. You should have had 30 or 40 more years like your Dad and Grandpa Owen. I hope that you have been reunited with Pam and your Mom & Dad. Although we had not seen each other in a few years, know that in my heart you are still my family and I love you.
