Sophia Obrien Boyd

Sophia Obrien Boyd, 80, of Stem passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her children.

Sophia was born in Person County on June 2, 1942 to the late Linwood Lee Obrien an Annie Grace Fuller Obrien. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Sophia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Sophia is survived by four children, Carolyn Boyd, Sherwood Boyd (Lisa) Tammy Williams and Stacey Peace (T.K.); seven grandchildren, Wesley, Chasity, Chad, Aaron, Amber, Trey and Nolan; seven great-grandchildren, Collin, Megan, Ariel, Emmy, Alistair, Aurelio and Atticus and two sisters, Earlean West and Lorene Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Boyd; a daughter, Christy Boyd; four siblings, Doris Oakley, Mable Bowling, Shelby Tingen and Harold Obrien and a son-in-law, James “Jamie” Williams.
