Alonza Curtis Boone

Alonza Curtis Boone, 90, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Nash County, he was the son of the late George Boone and Ethel Edwards Boone. He was the widower of Nellie Edwards Boone.

He was a member of Butner First Baptist Church and retired as Plant Operations Manager of the Water Plant in Butner, NC.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor, NC. Conducted by Dr. Charlie Bryan. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service. At other times they will be at the home of Wayne and Judy Breedlove.

Survivors include a son, Steve Boone (Jean); a daughter, Judy B. Breedlove (Wayne) both of Butner, NC, six grandchildren, Chad Breedlove (Vanessa), Tara Breedlove, Adam Boone, Amy Boone, Heather Strother and Holly Strother; and four great grandchildren, Sydney Breedlove, Joshua Breedlove, Taylor Boone and Brent Elliott. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Lilies of Hope Home Care and his caretakers for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Butner, P.O. Box 44, Butner, N.C. 27509.
