On many occasions I was sent up the street to Gene (& Robert’s) IGA by my mom to fetch something for her (likely something for her pies). Gene, as well as his brother Robert, were two of the friendliest guys you’d find anywhere. Their IGA was a staple in the community. RIP Gene.
To Gene’s family, prayers for comfort and peace. Gene and his brother and their families were quite an “institution” in their own right in Butner and surrounding communities. They were always so kind and helpful. Gene always had a smile on his face. Certainly he’s smiling now. ❤️🙏
Jackie, l am sadden to hear the passing of Gene. He was such a fine person who was always kind and treated you with respect. He will be greatly missed by the Creedmoor community. Gene has found his place in heaven. You are in my thoughts and prayer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Jackie and Family.Sorry we can’t be there ,we are out of town. Love David and Kathy Bordeaux
Gene use to ride his beautiful horse with Rich and Jane Hoppenworth, Shirley Cates, Betsy Hayes, Karen Morgan and Dennis Morgan, Becky Dean , and me! We had a wonderful time which are memories I will never forget. He was always happy and helpful. He will so be missed! God bless his family.
My condolences to you, Jackie, at this sad time. Our God controls our going and coming, and He loves us eternally. May memories and hope be with you. Gene is forever with Our God. My love, prayers and support.
To the family, I am deeply saddened by the grief you are feeling.
Knowing of God’s love for you, continue to look to him when ” he will wipe out all tears from our eyes, death, suffering, and pain will be no more. ” – Revelation 21:3,4
He says death is an ” enemy that will be brought to nothing. ” – 1 Corinthians 15:26
How comforting to know that this will be a thing of the past and through Christ Jesus a resurrection for our loved ones.
