
Frances S. Peed
Frances S. Peed, 92, of Creedmoor passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her home.
Frances was born in Alamance County on May 4, 1930 to the late Oscar Baynes Stanfield and Margaret Chambers. Frances and her family moved to Creedmoor when she was eleven years old. She played softball and basketball for Creedmoor High School before graduating in 1947. After graduation she worked for Central Carolina Bank and Trust for several years. Frances owned and operated The Early American Furniture Mart for more than twenty years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Creedmoor and was recently acknowledged as the oldest living member of the church.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor officiated by Reverend Jim Shelley. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Danny Emory (Kathy), Steve Emory and Linton Peed (Toni), one daughter, Christina Goodwin (Benny); six grandchildren, Elizabeth Hamme (Forest), Tracy Keith, Thomas “T.J.” Keith, Kylie Peed, Emory Peed and Lindsey Peed; a brother, Chemis Stanfield; four nieces, Rhonda Stanfield, Brenda Chappell, Melinda Hall and Patti Yandle and two nephews, John McCoy and Kenny Aiken. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Peed; her step-mother, Lois Stanfield; two sisters, Ernelle Aiken and Wilba McCoy and a niece, Pam Farr.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 from 9:00 – 10:45 AM at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
Flowers are kindly accepted or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
