Linda Kaye Gaster Boone

Linda Kaye Gaster Boone, 78, of Butner passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family.

Linda was born January 11, 1944, in Durham, NC to the late Stacey Clarence Gaster and Bertha Margaret Hilliard Gaster.

Linda was educated in Durham Public School and married James Douglas “Doug” Boone, September 11, 1965 and made their home in Butner, NC. She was a homemaker for many years before going to work at Murdoch Center where she retired as a supervisor, after twenty-one years of service. Linda will be remembered as a woman of faith, devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, sister and loyal friend. Linda was passionate about her genealogy and discovering her family tree. She will be greatly missed by those that had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

There will be a graveside service for immediate family only at South Granville Memorial Gardens.

Linda is survived by her husband, James Douglas “Doug” Boone; her children, Rodney Douglas Boone (Connie), Kimberly Renee Boone and Bryan Wayne Boone (Shelley); a sister, Denise Suggs (Rickey); six grandchildren, Diamond Hayes (Leon), Michael Potts (Taylor), Kelli Pettis (Timothy), Erin, Renee and Erica Boone; seven great-grandchildren; her brothers-in-law, Billy Eubanks, Ronald Skipper and Richard Woods; sister-in-law, Jane Rumph (Shelton) and many nieces and nephews. Linda also leaves behind her precious Sully (pet). She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brooklyn Shea Boone; her sisters, Mildred Weisner, Pearlie Cates, Betty Eubanks, Dorothy Faircloth, Carolyn Skipper and Cathy Woods and a brother, David Gaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
