Ruby Hampton Allen

Ruby Hampton Allen, 89, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Ms. Allen was a native of Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Paul and Maggie Hampton. She was a member of New Horizons Baptist Church, and a 50-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 94.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 22, in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford officiated by Reverend Cam Ford. Entombment will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.

Surviving are her two daughters, Charlotte Allen Draper (Donald) of Oxford and Kimberly Allen Dunn of Roxboro; three grandchildren, Kelly Snickles (Chris), James “Jamey” Vaughan (Melissa) and Crystal Dunn; four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jaliah, Kennedy, Colton; a sister, Dot Bradshaw of China Grove and two very special friends, Dawn Marie Omokunde and Anita Wilbourne. She was preceeded in death by her husband James Edward Allen.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. Sunday, May 22, prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.

    Ruby was a beloved Sister of Oxford Chapter #94, Order of The Eastern Star. She and her husband, James, were initiated together on April 28, 1971. She will be missed! Star love, Sister Vivian Oney, Secretary, OES Oxford Chapter #94

    Ruby was truly one of a kind!! The most kind, assertive, and loving lady I have ever met. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten. Prayers of strength for the family during this incredible difficult time. Love Linda.
