Nancy Carolyn Pittard
Nancy Carolyn Pittard, 78, of Oxford passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Granville Medical Center.
Nancy was born in Granville County on March 26, 1944 to the late Dr. Hal Kempton Pittard Sr. and Louise Smith. She worked at Murdoch Developmental Center for twenty-six years as a behavior specialist and was a member of the Oxford Woman’s Club. Nancy was an artist and an art enthusiast. She was very passionate about her work and attended art classes at Vance Granville Community College where she also participated in several art exhibitions. She painted cards for the Annual Hot Sauce Festival in Oxford and was an active attendee at the Senior Center for art every Tuesday.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.
She is survived by a brother, Hal Pittard Jr. and a sister, Dale Pittard. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Pittard.

Nancy was a huge influence on me at the beginning of my career at Murdoch and I have always considered our life intersection such a blessing. I know she will be greatly missed.
