John Adams Glass

John Adams Glass, 66, of Butner, passed away on March 20th, 2022 at Duke University Medical Center after a three-year battle with cancer. His wife, daughters, and brother were by his side.

The second of three children, John was born in South Boston, VA on February 13th, 1956 to the late Kenneth Harrison Glass and Alice Crute Glass. He was a 1974 graduate of Halifax County High School and married the former Lillian Gayle Winston of Oxford, NC on June 7, 1980. They began their life together in Danville, VA before moving to NC. They lived in Raleigh, Stem, and Oxford before settling in Butner. A route salesman by trade, John worked for Pepsi in Danville, VA before moving to Raleigh where he briefly delivered for Flowers Baking Company before getting a route at Pepsi in Raleigh. He briefly drove for Roadway Package Systems (now Fed Ex) before going back to Pepsi in Durham where he spent the next 21 years.
