Bonnie Boyd (Clayton) Breedlove

Bonnie Boyd (Clayton) Breedlove, 77, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, February 26, 2022, with James, her husband of 54 years, by her side.

Bonnie was born in Moore County, North Carolina, on May 19, 1944, to the late Hunter and Bonnie Clayton. She graduated from Creedmoor High School and Croft Business College before falling in love with James in 1967. They married a year later in South Carolina, and she spent the rest of her life close to her family and friends in Creedmoor. A beloved mother and grandmother, she proudly raised their three sons—James, David, and Clayton—and enjoyed having her eight grandchildren nearby to celebrate the important moments in their lives. She also enjoyed planting and tending her beautiful flowers and caring for her cats.

After retiring from Nortel several years ago, she participated in several organizations within the Creedmoor community. She was a member of the Granville County Board of Elections where she was appointed as the secretary. She also served on the Granville County Senior Services Advisory Board and belonged to the Granville County Genealogical Society. In addition, she was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and valued her relationships with her Sunday School family.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, James Breedlove, and her family: James Breedlove, Jr., his wife Mary, and their son Elijah Epps; David Breedlove, his wife Amy, and their children Caitlin Chappell, Dylan, Logan, Lucas, and Meghan; Clayton Breedlove and his children Elaina and Logan; her sister-in-law Christine Smith and her husband Marshall; and several other family members and close friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Rev. David Herman. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

A visitation will be held in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Sanctuary on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM.

James and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Bonnie’s passing. She was a true and faithful friend who I will always remember. We worked together at Nortel and she ,and several of us would go out on many Saturday mornings and have a girls time together. She always spoke highly of her family and shared some special moments with us. My thoughts and prayers go with each of you. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.

We will miss our dear cousin deeply. She was the spark plug of the Pittard / Clayton family, initiating, hosting, and managing numerous wonderful “cousins” reunions. We are so very sad, and we share sincere condolences with James Sr., her three sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. May she rest in peace.

Bonnie was one of the nicest person I knew. Every time she would come into the Dr. Office we would exchange a piece of chocolate or candy. I will always remember her. Gone but will not be forgotten. RIP

Dear James and Family, We just found out today about Bonnie’s passing. We will surely miss her smiles and her happy personality. We are new friends to your family, but will always remember how she gave us her yellow kitten last year. The kitty is happy and thriving at our house. The grandkids love to play with him. Thank you, Bonnie.
