Betty “Polly” Riggsbee

Betty “Polly” Riggsbee ,87, a resident of Franklinton passed away at Granville Medical Center on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

She was born and raised in Durham, the daughter of the late Forrest Lee and Maggie Allen Wilkins. Betty was a yellow cab driver in Durham for many years.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday February 28, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Durham by Reverend David Richardson.

She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Linda “Lynn” Recher (William) of Henderson; son-in-law, Charles King Sr ,a grandson, Charles King Jr. and a granddaughter, Angela King (Barbara) of Franklinton; four great grandsons, E.J. King, Owen King, Dustin Hayes, Robert Smith, great granddaughter, Mae Basden, great- great granddaughter, Arya Hayes and a special granddaughter-in-law, Rachel Gregory. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa King and brothers, Forrest, James and R.T. Wilkins.
