David Thomas Harris

David Thomas Harris, 88, of Butner passed away Wednesday, February 2,2022 at his home.

David was born in Granville County to the late Thomas Goodman Harris and Frances Veasey. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Butner for more than fifty years where he served as a deacon. He retired from SH Basnight & Sons with thirty years of service. David served in the United States Army for two years and he loved NASCAR, camping and was an avid Tarheel fan.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Butner Monday, February 7,2022 at 2:00 PM officiated by Dr. Charlie Bryan. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:45 – 1:45 PM at First Baptist Church of Butner.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-seven years, Linda Harris of the home; a son, Michael David Harris (Madalyn) of Leland; three grandchildren, Aaron Harris (Whitney) of Kittrell, Lyndsey Walker (Brien) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Todd Owen of Atlanta, Ga; four great-grandchildren, Jake and Charlie Harris and Leah and Bennett Walker and a brother, Cecil Harris of Butner. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Harris and Annette Owen.
