Wayne Thomas Keeton

Wayne Thomas Keeton, 76 a resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Granville Medical Center.

He was born in Vance County on September 26, 1945 to the late Charlie Thaxton Keeton, Sr and Emma Eggleston Keeton. He was a longtime member of Marrow’s Chapel Methodist Church. Wayne worked for Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA for 40 years and the Town of Stovall for 15 years. Wayne’s greatest passion was farming; he loved tobacco, tractors and old cars.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford by Rev. Norman Talley. Burial will be in Marrow’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45 PM and at other times at the home.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia P. Keeton of the home; daughter, Tabitha Harris (Ty) of Louisburg, sons, Eddie Keeton (Charlene) of Bullock, Danny Keeton (Scharla) of Oxford; brothers, Francis Keeton of Stovall, William Hunter Keeton of Clarksville, VA, Ray Keeton of Grassy Creek, Al Keeton of Hampton, VA, Pete Keeton of Hicksboro, sisters, Ruby Averette of Bullock, Jenny Lou Elliott of Clarksville, VA, Bonnie Cottrell of Oxford, Dag Bailey of Stovall; three grandchildren, Havanna Keeton, Nicholas Keeton and Danielle Keeton.

He was preceded in death by brothers, CT and Robbins Keeton and a sister, Carol Luffman.

Flowers are kindly accepted or memorials may be made to Marrow’s Chapel Methodist Church cemetery fund, in care of Marshall Tingen, 9034 McDuffie Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.

    sorry for your loss of mr.wayne. i enjoyed growing up down the road from him . i also primed tobacco for him and many others in the lewis community.

    Very sorry to hear that Wayne has passed. ALL the Keetons meant a LOT to my Dad and his brothers. I remember trips to NC to visit my grandmother Annie “Keeton” Clifford and visiting Great Uncle Thaxton’s and Great Aunt Emma’s home and running around with lots of second Keeton cousins. My wife Kathy and I send you our condolences.

    My condolences goes out to the Keeton famwily. e Such a lovable some has gained wings and flown through the heavenly gates. Wayne was a well known man and always gave care to the community of Stovall. We loved him but God loved him more. May he rest now, he has done his work on earth. Love goes out to all the family ❤️🙏🏽
