Susie Wester Ortmann

Susie Wester Ortmann, 84, of Granville County passed away Sunday, January 9,2022 at Duke Regional Medical Center in Durham.

Susie was born in Franklin County to the late Samuel Rufus Wester and Susie Shearin. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Butner and retired from John Umstead Hospital as a Tech 2 after many years of service. Susie loved anything Santa Clause and Christmas as well as crafting and quilting by hand. She was an avid bird watcher and made sure to keep the bird feeder in the front yard full of bird seed for the birds and even the squirrels. Susie enjoyed traveling and took many bus tours around the United States. Of all the things she loved, her greatest passion in life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Joseph House (Billie); two step-children, Donnie Ortmann (Marianne) and Pamela Krebs (Herman); four grandchildren, Tyler House, Cameron House, Kasey Akers (James) and Ryan Akers (Amber) and seven great-grandchildren, Roen, Jude, Ashton, Emma, Klaire, Eli and Olivia. She was preceded in death by husbands Joseph M. House and Alfred Ortmann and a step daughter, Beverly.

    So sorry for your loss Joey. Susie was a wonderful lady & had enough love to go around for everyone. Amber & the kids were blessed to have her in their lives. She took them into her family and loved them as her own grand children and great grandchildren & for that I will always be grateful. She will be loved & missed.
