
Charles “Chuck” William Welsh
Charles “Chuck” William Welsh, 61, of Granville County, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 26, 2021 at UNC Rex Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lynn “Trautman” Welsh and his step-son J.T. Trautman.
Chuck was born on June 15, 1960 in Chester PA. to Robert Arthur Welsh Sr. and Virginia Morrison. He was a graduate of South Granville High School, class of 1978, where he lettered in football. Chuck served his country in both the Army and the North Carolina National Guard, earning distinction during basic training by scoring a perfect score on the range qualifying with his M16. He worked for Asplundh and Altec Industries for nearly twenty years where he made many lifelong friends. Prior to that he worked at Mount Hope Finishing and Hannaford.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11,2021 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford. And other times at the home of his son, Robert “Matt” Welsh.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Robert M. Welsh (Kelly) and Adam Welsh (Jennifer); his loving and devoted parents, Robert Arthur Welsh Sr. and Virginia L. Morrison Welsh; five granddaughters, Ariel, Hailey, Cheyenne, Elizabeth and Amber, his brother, Robert A. Welsh Jr. (Katie), his step-daughter Sandy Eastman (Jeff), and his cherished partner Debbie Rhew Murray.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 11,2021 at 2:00 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.

I am sorry for your loss. I was a cheerleader when Chuck played football at SGHS. We had some great times during high school. I re-acquainted with Chuck many years after high school. His demeaner had never changed. He was a gentleman and would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He will be missed. I will keep you (the family & Debbie) in my prayers.
I have known the Welsh family since they moved here with Nortel. We have net seen much
of them during Pandemic.We are praying for their comfort and God will carry them thru.

I I’m at a lose for words. I’ve known him forever. Him and my brother were best friends. The memories that I have. I know bro was standing at the gates waiting on him. I met Chuck as a National Guard Recruiter. I got to know him and his parents then and later while working at Nortel. Chuck, my wife, my daughters and I used to play basketball at the Creedmoor Nortel plant. I will miss him and pray that God has welcomed him into Heaven. May God grant comfort and peace to his family and friends. This I ask in Jesus name. Amen!!!
