Lois Adcock Saunders

Lois Adcock Saunders, 96, of Oxford passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at her home.

Lois was born in Granville County to the late Willie Lee Adcock and Aline Thomas Clark. She was a lifetime member of West Oxford Baptist Church. Lois retired from Burlington Industries after 33 years of service. Lois loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. In Lois’ own words “Marvin Wayne and Wayne Dease are the sunshine of my life.”

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Bruce Beck. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a grandson Marvin Wayne Dease of Oxford; a granddaughter, Kathy Blackwell (Dwayne) of Wilmington; a son-in-law, Wayne Dease (Frances) of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Vickers (Samatha) of Leland, NC and Jolene Lloyd of Halifax, Va.; six great great-grandchildren, Noah of Leland, NC, Tiffany, Mason, Cheyenne and Harlene all of Halifax, Va., and one sister, Helen Garrison of Falls Church, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin L. Saunders; a daughter, DeLois Ann Saunders Dease and four brothers, Earl H. Adcock, Bill Adcock, Roy N. Adcock and James Adcock Leonard.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
