







Fred Randolph Rice “Ted”
Fred Randolph Rice “Ted” passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Granville Medical Center.
Raised in Clarksville, VA he was the son of the late Grady Lee Rice and Willie Lee Wiley Rice. He was a graduate of Bluestone High School and a member of the 82nd Airborne Troop. He served as Director of Maintenance for Granville County Schools and went on to retire from E&E Farm Equipment. An active member of West Oxford Baptist Church he loved to sing in the choir and gathering with his Sunday School Class. Fred’s talents were many and the phrase “Jack of all trades” could not be better suited for anyone. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor and friend.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bruce Beck. Burial will follow in the Averette Overton Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Lois Jane Overton Rice of the home; three sons, Franklin Wiley Rice (Kathy), Michael Wayne Rice (Amy), Phillip Scott Rice (Wendy) all of Oxford; a sister, Helen Morrison of Alberdeen; a granddaughter, Leah Rice, three grandsons, Andrew, Samuel and Connor Rice, two great grandchildren, Wesley Rice and Evelynne Harper Rice. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Rice, bothers, Bob and Paul Rice.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 am at Eakes Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Flowers are accepted or Memorials may be made to West Oxford Baptist Church.

Jane and family,we are so sad over the passing of Fred. He was an awesome friend and we will remember all of the memories we shared together through the years. He loved telling everyone how special his grandchildren and great grandchildren were to him.
