Billy Jack Ellington
Billy Jack Ellington, 82, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Duke Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Ewell and Hettie Yarbough Ellington. Billy was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He worked with El Ross Insurance, Rain and Hail division and was a retired tobacco farmer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Eakes funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Robert Oliver and KJ Ellington. Burial will be in Rogers Family Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers Horace, Henry, Lex, Floyd, Richard, Jimmy and Lawrence Ellington, three sisters, Ida Mae Hicks and Blanch and Louise Delionbach.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ellington of Stem, two sons, Dan Ellington of Stem, Bruce Ellington (Juanita) of Stem, 7 grandchildren , 14 great grandchildren and a sister, Christine Oliver (Ricky) of Rougemont.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
