





Gloria Jean Roberts Land
Gloria Jean Roberts Land, 74, of Oxford passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation in Henderson, NC.
Gloria was born in Durham County to the late William Thomas Roberts and Mary Ruth Jones Roberts. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. Gloria’s passion was playing softball with the Oak Grove Athletic Association, baking cakes and was an avid Tarheel fan. She was a very loving and kind-hearted person with a servant’s heart always willing to lend a helping hand.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Neil Woodlief. Burial will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, James Land; two sons, Charles “Chuck” M. Walker (Susan) of Oxford, and Mark S. Walker of Washington State; two step-daughters, Faye Land Davenport (Jason) of Stem and Vickie Land Johnson (Art) of Oxford; a step-son, Cliff Land of Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Williams (Alton) and Susan Gooch (Butch) and a brother Michael Roberts (Merrilee). She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Marie Roberts and a brother, Tommy Roberts.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at Corinth Baptist Church immediately following the commital service.
