

Patsy Mayton Vaughan
Patsy Mayton Vaughan, 65, of Oxford passed away Saturday, May 16, 2021 at Duke Regional Medical Center.
Patsy was born October 11, 1955 in Durham County to Eva Mae Melton Brogden and the late Raymond Thomas Brogden. She was a seamstress and homemaker and was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Patsy loved and cherished her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law and friend.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford from 5:00-7:00 PM.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 6 years, Michael “Mike” Vaughan; one sister Barbara Munn (Scott); two brothers, Bruce Brogden (Diane) and Neil Brogden (April); a loving mother-in-law, Esther Vaughan, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David Mayton; her first husband, Samuel Mayton and a special friend, her fur baby, “Sissy” who crossed over the rainbow bridge last year. Patsy truly loved and adored her loyal companion.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 PM officiated by Reverend Cameron Currin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers are kindly accepted or memorials may be made to Grassy Creek Baptist Church, 9142 Grassy Creek Rd., Bullock, NC 27507.

You are all as family on our hearts, in our minds and prayer during this time. Whether we get to see you or not, know we love you and are thinking of you. We praise Jesus for His ever present love and comfort to us all and look forward to see you when we can. Words cannot express all we feel at times as this, but this is an effort to share to each individual how much we appreciate you and thank God for you and to extended family Mike and Mrs. Vaughn. I am so saddened to hear of Patsy passing..My thoughts and prayers go out to the family..She was such a dear friend with a beautiful soul and a listening ear..She never met a stranger..I have a lot of cherished memories that I will hold dear to my heart..this is not goodbye but I will see you later girl…

So sad to hear of aunt Patsy’s passing. She is with Boe and David now. And welcoming her to the kingdom of heaven.
Deepest sympathy! I am so sorry to hear of Patsy’s passing but I know she is happy to be reunited with her loved ones. She was such a sweet lady and always had a smile on her face.
I have known Patsy my entire life. I cannot think of a single person in this world sweeter than her. This makes me sad but I know she is rejoicing today. I am sorry for her famlly’s loss.
I am so sorry to hear about Patsy, she was always such a good hearted person and a great neighber. My heart goes out to the family, wish I could be there during your time if sorrow, but my husband is bedridden and I can’t leave him. But I am sending both love and prayers to all.

I’m so sorry to hear about Patty’s death. We truly loved her as a friend. We worked together years ago and she was always smiling. Our loss is heavens gain. God bless her family.
I can’t think of a better way to describe Patsy than to say “ always a smile”! Whatever she was facing in life, she knew God would make a way for her and give her grace and strength as needed. She has been a blessing in my life. I will greatly miss her in this life on earth, but I know we shall meet again in heaven! For Mike, Ester, Aunt Nellie, brothers and sister and extended family members , please know I love you all!
