


















Thomas Edwin Lunsford
Thomas Edwin Lunsford, 82, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Saturday April 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was born June 8, 1938 in Person County to the late William H. Lunsford and Eleanor P. Lunsford. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Thomas was a truck driver for McCracken Oil for 30 years and for Oxford Oil Company for 17 years, and also farmed for many years. He loved to fish and loved his family vacations at the beach and the mountains.
Visitation will be held Monday evening April 12, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Lindsay B. Collins. You may access the funeral service by clicking on the following link:

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary M. Lunsford of the home; a daughter, Kimberly Bowman (Paul); daughter-in-law, Deborah Lunsford; grandchildren, Shannon Vick, Randy Lunsford (Whitney), Jennifer Bowman (Tim Wilbourne), Brooke Bowman (Fiance’ Blake Klinefelter) and great-grandchildren, Summer Vick, Wyatt Lunsford, Weldon Lunsford all of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Lunsford.

Mary i am so sorry too hear of the passing of Thomas, he was a very Great Friend and Good person!! I have know you and Thomas every since i was 15 years old working at Lynwood Vaughans Exxon Station when I was 15 yrs old , and after I came back too work Granville County with the NCSHP, he will be greatly missed by me and all of his friends that new him. God Bless You and your Family.
Thomas delivered fuel oil to our farm many , many times over the years. Always in good humor , he was a fine gentleman and friend. RIP old friend.

Sitting here thinking about all the good times with Thomas. He was one of the best “UNCLE” anyone could ask for. He will surely be missed. Heaven sure gained another angel. Rest In Peace, Thomas (LUMP)!!!
Mary, Kim and Lunsford Family, I am so very saddened to hear of Thomas’ passing. I have many good memories of that sweet man and how he always made me laugh.
