Alexander William Ward
Alexander William Ward, 70, of Bullock passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home.
Alex was born in Polk County, NC to the late Vance Forest Ward Jr. and Mildred Louise Bayne. He was raised at the Oxford Orphanage with his siblings and graduated in 1969 from John Nichols High School. Alex served with the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He remained close to his orphanage “brothers” as well as many close friends in the community and they enjoyed spending time together hunting, fishing and golfing.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters; Rebecca Williams (Ray) of Bahama and Patricia Koshada (Larry) of Berea, two brothers; Gary Ward of Oxford and Michael Ward (Cindy) of Oxford and numerous nieces and nephews.

Was saddened to hear of Alex’s passing. He was “always” one of the nicest & most polite people I have ever met; in fact—the entire Ward family had that trait!!!!! Prayers & condolences to all his family & friends, & especially his Orphanage brothers & sisters!!!!
to the ward family sorry to hear one of my great friends has gone to be with his lord and savior my prayers are with you all. Alex always waved when i was in the yard working and sometimes would stop and say a word or two it will be missed greatly

So sorry to hear of my former neighbor’s passing….Alex was a good guy and I always enjoyed talking to him when I’d see him in the neighborhood…rest in peace Alex.
Alex , was a truly good friend to me, and many others, especially the Class of 69. We all miss him very much, and he will always be remembered.
