Helen DeClue Baynes

Helen DeClue Baynes passed from this earthly life on January 28, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very involved with her family and will be greatly missed. Helen worked for Jack’s Mini Market and had lots of customers and friends. She retired from Central Regional Hospital after serving several years in food services, where the customers loved her banana pudding.

She is survived by her husband, John Alan Baynes; two sons, Alan Craven (Beverly) and John Edward and a beloved granddaughter, Hannah Nevaeh Baynes. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Odile and Stanley Sylvester DeClue.

The family would like to thank you for your many prayers and acts of kindness during this sad time in our lives.

Helen always had such a happy attitude and wonderful sense of humor. I knew her from Jacks and later worked with her at Central Regional. She always made people smile. Very sorry for your loss.

My heart aches. Helen was an amazing woman and always brought a smile to your face. She would make time and be the listening ear you needed. I hate that time has passed and I haven’t kept up with Helen, but she is surly a woman you could go years without seeing and when you finally do, it’s like no time had passed at all. My prayers are with the family and all her friends! God truly has an angel by his side.
