When I first started working for you I was scared of you as a bear. But it didn’t take long for me to find out you were one of the finest and kindest people I ever knew. Francis you were my hero. You taught me a lot during my years at Burlington and it served me well the rest of my years in the workforce. You were loved and you will be missed by many. My sympathy to your family.

Randy, I’m so sorry to hear that your dad has passed. I know you and your family will miss him very much.. I always enjoyed hearing your stories about him, when I worked with you at the lab. Although I only saw your dad a few times I feel I knew him through you with your sweet and funny stories. I pray that all the wonderful memories of him, comfort you and your family.

Please accept my condolences for the passing of your dad and grandfather, Francis and my late husband William were childhood friends. It is sad for those left behind that Francis will be out of your sight but for him it is an “address change” to Heaven and an eternity with Jesus, your mother and grandmother.
    Love in Christ Alone!

Yesterday we lost the kindest, most gentle man I’ve ever known. A man I’ve loved like a second dad over 60 plus years. Each time I saw him over the years of my moving away, marrying, coming home, he would wrap me in a big hug, give me a kiss on the top of the head and say, “I love you little girl.” – and in that moment, I was instantly a child again – feeling loved, safe, and secure, no matter my age.

Christmas when I visited, taking him a little something to eat I had made for him, I got my hug, this time kissing him on top of the head and telling him I loved him. I love you too, little girl, he said as always. What a blessing he was to me and to many, many others.

My heart is broken for Pam, Randy and his whole family who have lost a very, very special father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was someone who can’t be replaced, he was one of a kind, and you all were so blessed. He was a gentle giant of a man.

Love you Francis and always will.

Our deepest sympathy to Pam, Randy and their families. Francis was certainly one of a kind and his family was his greatest pride and joy. He had a beautiful smile that lit up any room. He had a way of making everyone feel so special and I know he will be missed by many. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have known such a wonderful man. Rest In Peace dear Francis. Mark and Autumn

    Randy and Pam,
What a blessing to have been the neighbor of such wonderful people as your mother, Glenis and your father, Francis. Both of them lived a life of loving each other and loving their neighbors too. The word neighbor did not have to mean next door. Each went about finding ways to give to others with no expectation of recognition. It is with sadness that I learn that your father is no longer with us. As time passes the treasures of the beautiful memories will overtake the pain of the loss.

Randy and Pam, We were so sorry to learn of your father’s death. He was a great friend to Dad until the end and continued to check on Mom all along. We will be praying for all of you as you go through this time of morning. It is so good to have the LORD to lean on in times like this.

    Dear Pam, Randy, and Family,
Your father was my first boss after graduating from Vance-Granville Community College, so you could say that Francis gave to me my first job. It was May of 1984 and I was only 20 years old. It was later on that summer, or maybe the next year, Francis invited several employees from Burlington to a cookout at his and Glennis’s lake house. I remember very well how much Francis enjoyed their house at the lake, and how much he enjoyed playing golf at The Thorndale Country Club.
Francis was a good man and he will be missed by many. I will always remember him as my first boss, a good one at that.
