
Vasel Lenwood Dean
Vasel Lenwood Dean, 84, of Granville County passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center.
Vasel was born in Granville County to the late William Albert Dean and Fannie Garrett. He retired from Hanes Corporation after many years of service and was a part of the Berea Community.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Delores Yarboro Dean; a daughter, Marsha Baird (Richard) of Oxford, two grandsons; Darrell Baird of Oxford and Brandon Dean of Rougemont; one great-granddaughter, Brittain Dean and one sister, Irene Hicks of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dean and two brothers, Edward Dean and Floyd Dean.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Keith Williams, Reverend Tim Atkins and Reverend Stan Jenkins. I worked with Vasel 10 + years at Mt Hope/ Hanes Corporation. He was a great supervisor, co-worker and friend. He will be missed. by many, especially Delores, Marsha and the grand sons. I know the thought the “sun” rose and set in. Our prayers are with you thru the coming days.
My heart is hurting , the dean family I knew from my daddy Worked on the dean farm and rented from Basel and Delois ,, we had some good times with family back in the day growing up with Marsha and mike ,, my prayers going out to Marsha and Delores,, a great man ,, my memories I’ll have of all the years ,,

Vasel was a wonderful boss and friend. I worked with him 17 years at Mt.Hope/Hanes. He loved his family so so much. He use to tell me stories about the grand boys. Wonderful man who had a heart of gold. There will never be another like him. Rest in peace my friend.
I am so sorry for your loss just now read his obituary on Facebook I worked with Vasel at Hanes about 7years as a co supervisor he was one fine man to work with and a great friend 8 have been calling his home for months so sorry I loved Vasel like a brother God bless his family R.I, P.V .
