Amy Lee Womack Currin

 

Amy Lee Womack Currin, 91, of Granville County passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Brantwood Nursing Home.

Amy was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia to the late William Lockett Womack and Alma Matthews. She was an admired and well-known seamstress in Oxford and was passionate about her work. Amy altered clothes for Touch of Class in Oxford for several years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Oxford Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at Meadowview Memorial Park at 2:00 PM by Reverend Chris Aho. You may access the graveside service by clicking on the following link:

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Tanya Currin Faucette (Bob) of Oxford; two granddaughters, Courtney Nunnamaker of Oxford and Amanda Nunnamaker of Oxford; a grandson, Marshall Averette (Melissa) of Butner; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Dana and Mackenzie; three great great-grandchildren, Layton, Haley and Mason; a son-in-law, Melvin Dixon and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, James Marshall Currin; a daughter, Marsha Currin Dixon and three brothers, Gilbert, Elvin and William.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 398 Oxford, NC 27565.

    Tanya and Family,
    I was so sorry to read about Ms. Amy’s passing. I got to know your mom when Marshall worked at Oxford Ford. I always thought a lot of both your parents. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
