Lurline King


Ruth “Lurline” Goss King, 81, was taken home by her Lord, November 8, 2020. She passed away peacefully at Granville Medical Center in Oxford, NC.

She was born in Granville County to the late Vida Keith Goss and Aubrey Goss.

Lurline is survived by a daughter; Carolyn Currin (Joby), their son Aaron Currin (Jordan) and son Tucker, their daughter April Dixon (Seth) and daughters Keirra, Kaelyn and Kinsley; two sons, Ronnie King (Teresa) and their son Talon, and Danny King (Shirley) and their daughter Shannon Abbott (Eddie) and their children Kylie and Clay; a son Danny King Jr. (Amanda) and their children, Alyssa, Abigail and Danny Ray King III; one brother, Aubrey Goss and one sister, Louise Hines. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Ned” King and three siblings; Billy Goss, Hubert “Coconut” Goss, and Maude “Josephine” Stephens.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Carolina Memorial Gardens by Reverend Wesley Holder. Pallbearers will be Eddie Abbott, Clay Abbott, Aaron Currin, Hunter Windley, Seth Dixon, and Jeff Thompson. You may access the graveside service by clicking on the following link:

    Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. I went to school with Lurline and lost touch until her granddaughter and my grandson married and we became an extended family. She is loved by many people.

    Carolyn, Ronnie, Danny and extended family, Debbie and I are so sorry for your loss. Looking at the family photo on this site leads me to believe that your mother was blessed many times over with the size of your family. You all are in our prayers.
