

















Wesley Thomas Burnette, Sr.
Wesley Thomas Burnette, Sr. 90, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Zack Fielding Burnette and Nettie Brummitt Burnette. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and worked at Boyd Automotive for forty years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2020 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Randy Pittman. You may access the funeral service by clicking on the following link:

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Wesley Burnette, Jr. and Mark Fielding Burnette (Michelle); two grandsons, Daniel Fielding Burnette, Jacob Thomas Burnette of Oxford; a sister, Daphne Lansinger of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Durwood Burnette and Lionel Burnette of Oxford.
Mr. Burnette was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn Turner Burnette.
Eakes Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for all services, and asks everyone in attendance wear a mask when entering the building.

I will so miss Uncle Wes’ beautiful smile, happy laughs and great sense of humor! He was such a kind and good man and all the life long memories will always be treasures. Wesley Jr, Mark, Michelle, Daniel and Jacob I will keep you in my prayers through this most difficult time. I love you all.

My dad used to say Uncle Wes was his hero growing up. I always understood why. He was a wonderful, sweet and caring man who will always be in our hearts.
Wesley was a family favorite because of his sense of humor and even temperament. He was kind and loved everyone..
He will be greatly missed. Prayers for peace for his family.
