Sharon was a very special person! Back in the late 70’s, she worked with me at the National Guard Center. Her wise counsel kept me out of trouble more than I would like to remember. Her gargarous personality was infectious and she was widley respected by all that knew her. We recently connected after many years without contact, and when we first talked, she was just as warm and cordial, although she was in much pain as a result of her cancer. She will always be a very special friend, and Carolyn and I will always remember great memories with her, Jeremy and Jason. Our prayers go out to Lehman, Gayle and her family. Heaven will certainly be a better place with her there!

The loss of this precious soul has hurt my heart in ways I can’t explain. She was my best friend, my confidante, my laughing buddy, and someone to cry with if I needed that. I thought we all had more time but I’m so thankful I was able to spend the afternoon with her before she passed and that she was feeling good. I am going to miss our daily chats on messenger and knowing she was there in case I wanted to see her. God took a precious angel home this week and it isn’t for me to question his timing, but I’m sure going to miss her. I loved her and your family and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives for 60+ years. Our prayers will be with you all daily as you begin the process of doing life without Sharon. May God bless and sustain you all.

My heart is heavy for this wonderful family. My parents, Dorothy and Burke Brinkley enjoyed spending our summer vacations in North Carolina when I was very young. Even though we never lived close by, I loved her parents, Lehman and Gail. I pray that the Lord will provide y’all with some comfort and peace in knowing that she was dearly loved by those who knew her. She was a loyal patron who willingly put the lives of others ahead of her own. May God bless all of you during this very tough time. Blessings always. Gayle
