Edith Pauline Frazier Blackwell

 

Edith Pauline Frazier Blackwell, 93, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, September 29,2019 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.

A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Guston Frazier and Myrtle Briar Frazier. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church. She was a deacon, sang in the choir and taught bible school. She was also a member of WMU.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 4 PM at Mt. Creek Baptist Church by Reverend Johnny Richards and Reverend Ken Childress. Burial will follow in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy Blackwell Malugen of Oxford, Bess Blackwell Reece (Stewart) of Oxford, two sons, Donald Blackwell (Wanda) of Zebulon, Paul Blackwell (Wanda) of Oxford, A sister Cleo Frazier of Oxford, two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Elliott and Wilma Tunstall of Butner, 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchilren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Howard S. Blackwell, a daughter, Brenda Blackwell Currin, three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 1, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home of Stewart and Bess Reece.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Creek Baptist Church at 2187 Mt. Creek Rd. Oxford, NC 27565.

    Thinking of you Amy & your sister Bess at this time. No matter how old, it’s very hard to loose someone you love. But it sounded like “Old Mama@?lived a nice long life filled with lots of love surrounding her. May many warm memories fill you & your family’s hearts.
